Evidence-Based Answers, Faster
Consensus.app works by using AI to scan through hundreds of millions of articles to find evidence-based answers to your question. I love a good debate with students, but sometimes we need to start with scientifi-based research. Steps from the website include:
Step 1: The user enters a query.
Step 2: AI searches through the database of hundreds of millions of scientific papers for a subset of relevant papers based on a standard keyword search.
Step 3: From these relevant papers, the Consensus model “reads” the papers for you, extracting sentences when authors state their findings based on evidence.
I tried using the search string “pets improve mental health,” and the research appears clear on the benefits of improving mental health. I did a second search regarding the safety of self-driving cars, but the research wasn’t as clear. Also, I had to create a free account before I could continue with my second search.
